Have had great success with e-trailer hitches in the past, so this was a great disappointment. Fit was poor. (Distance between hitch mounting plates and auto attachment rails was wrong.) When I fed this back, I received no follow-up to resolve the situation.
Was very easy to install on my 2025 vw Tiguan.
The exhaust tips on either end of the muffler make it next to, or actually impossible to install. Mine is a 2026 Turbo which might have a different muffler? Anyhow, its been over a week since I asked for help and I have gotten no reply to my mail.

Sorry to hear that, Kurt. I double checked with Curt and this hitch is designed to fit all versions of 2026 VW Tiguan, so I don't think the muffler/exhaust tips should be causing issues with the install. Did you happen to watch our install video for this hitch? Does you exhaust look significantly different?

Very simple install, (under 1 hour) I did not have to trim the bumper cover, A perfect fit on the 2025 VW Tiguan
The bolt on arms from left right was about 5/8 short in fitting between the frame .That left the treads short to screw on the bolts could not use the washers on one side.Also the 25 Tiguan did not need to trim the bumper
Wasn't sure about installing it myself but gave it a try. Installation took less than an hour, a little stressful fishing the wires through the frame to pull in the spacer's & bolts. No bumper trimming as stated in the instructions, very satisfied with the hitch.
Fits perfect I almost got it on but iam getting too old to do the work idis not get it on at 5pm it was beautiful in Colorado today! Taking it to our friend shop for old people it a 2 man job but I tried. Great hitch thanks. Iam 77 years old ! I had fun today !
2025 Tiguan. Fit was great and no trimming of bumper. Note that, when installing, the exposed thread of the bolts after tightening is less on the set that is closest to the bumper. Recommend using a coat hanger to pull the provided fish wires through the holes. Aligning the last bolt can be a bit of a challenge and was the only reason for the approximate 1 hour install time.
packaging wasn't the greatest the hitch was good but installing in a garage without help was pretty difficult but i did complete the install

Installed it on my 2025 VW Tiguan in about 2.5 hours. Looking forward to use it for my bike rack.
Would suggest to better packing for shipment. As received, the receiver was protruding from the box which had caused the paint to get slightly damaged.
Well engineered and built hitches! I have purchased a few. I only wish there was more care in packaging the hitch for shipping. My mounting brackets pierced the box and the finish has been damaged. Damage to powder coat breaks the integrity of the coating and can promote corrosion. I don’t mind touching up the bare metal with paint, but it’s a step needed before installing the hitch.
Delivery was very fast. The installation was straight forward and I completed it within the estimated hour they said it would take.
The only issue I had was the first hitch had shipping damage where the receiver end had come through the box and was scraped and banged up. etrailer gave me the option for a paint discount or ship a new one. I opted for a new one which they promptly shipped out.
Customer service was excellent and the hitch itself looks to be good quality.
I was able to put the hitch on by myself, but would not recommend that method for all. It took me over two hours. I liked that there was extra room to slide the hitch into place. I think there was too much room as I found the bolts were not long enough to start the tightening. I had to use a C-clamp to pull the hitch close to the frame. I chose to try fitting without cutting the bumper and that work with a very small space between. Fishing the wires in frame was not the hard part. I was very frustrated when I realized that one of the coiled fishing wires was too loose to hold the bold securely. The bolt fell off and I lost it in the frame. I spent almost an hour finding a way to retrieve my bolt. It came out with lots of prayer and a rare earth magnet taped on a wire. I used careful guidance to keep it from sticking to the frame and I thankfully dropped the magnet on the bolt and got my bolt out of the frame!d. I was not about ready to leave the bolt to rattle in the frame. I have mounted hitches on my cars before, but this one was the toughest task of them all. The hitch is of good quality, looks very nice and only the receiver is visible. I wanted the hitch to mount my Kuat bike rack on a 2025 VW Tiguan.
The only trailer hitch I could find for my 26 Volkswagen Tiguan, that you did not have to cut into your bumper to install. First time installer and I did it in 30 minutes. Saved alot on installation! Thank you Curt!!!!

Hey, Greg. I'm sorry to hear that you ran into issues when installing the hitch. These hitches are made out of a mild flex steel and sometimes between being shipped to us or from us to you they can flex out of shape. I attached a help article that goes over how to fix this and get the hitch installed.
